Who We Are
The Nebraska Water Ski Club was started in 1975. At first, the club did not compete, but practiced at Branched Oak Lake, behind outboards, plus took trips in the spring to ski in southern Missouri.
In the 1980’s, the club practiced on Capitol Beach, behind a MasterCraft Stars and Stripes, as well as on the state’s first private lake near Prague.
In the late 90’s, the club skied competitively against Big 8 schools. The club practiced, and even hosted a tournament, at the newly completed Championship Lake Estates.
The club took a break, but restarted again in the spring of 2013. The club skied its first competition in the fall of 2013. Since the fall of 2014, the Nebraska Water Ski Club has qualified for the Midwest Regional Championship tournament every year. In 2018, the club won the, “Midwest Team of the Year” award. The Nebraska Water Ski Club qualified for the National Championships for the first time in 2022.
